China Circularized an Action Plan for Soil Contamination Prevention and Treatment

Updated: Feb 4, 2019

The core of Ten Articles is to provide policy guidance for improving the soil quality and to provide a safer natural environment for Chinese people.

As food safety and environment pollution have become a big concern for Chinese people’s daily life, Chinese government has taken positive actions. Recently the State Council of the PRC has circularized its Action Plan for Soil Contamination Prevention and Treatment for guiding China’s soil environment rescue actions (“Ten Articles”). The core of Ten Articles is to provide policy guidance for improving the soil quality and to provide a safer natural environment for Chinese people, so they can eat safer and live in a better environment. Like its economy development plans, China sets its targets every 10 years to improve China’s soil environment based on Ten Articles, so its soil quality and eco-system could be significantly improved by the middle of this century.
